Hey guys,
I'd love to set up a service project to happen mid-June and have been brainstorming a bit. I still love the idea of serving those within TNL who may have immediate needs we could fulfill, but am waiting on more feedback on this.
Tiffani had recommended the Ronald McDonald house as a great place to serve. For those of you who don't know what they do, they provide a home away from home for families of children that have extended hospital stays in Denver. So these families not only are dealing with an ailing child and the emotional turmoil surrounding that, but the practical issues of living away from home such as not knowing the area, maybe not having much support from family and friends, and the financial strain involved.
One option is to host a meal for these families, which would require us to prepare and serve/cleanup for a meal. Let's discuss this sunday if this is a good option for our group's next project.
And always open to more ideas - anyone?
